Proof that I do not Understant these Football things.

Me and Makena went to the football game tonight, which was totally fun in a-see-your-nerdy-band-friends kinda way. eh. I have no clue about the rules of football. I basically realize that when everyone around you stands and cheers, that's a good thing. Talked to Matt and Ming Ming, tried talking to Manogna, almost got yelled at by the drum majors, yeah, fun stuffs.

I felt so left out having a name that doesn't start with M.

In the knitting world, I am casting on for Le Slouch tonight.

Big Scary Hi! School, or My History Teacher

So, my first week of Hi! School was rather uneventful. I got lost many atime, but was only tardy once, and that was right after lunch.
The real topic here: My history teacher, who for our purposes will be called Ms.D.
First day of school-Ms.D appears to be very type A, left brained. I assume (thou shalt never assume again)that I shall be in for one rough semester. Not super excited. not at all.
Second day of school-I screw up one of many procedures and mention this in our history journals, which I assume she actually reads (HELLO! Does thou haveth shorth termth memoryth lossth?) , considering she actually reads our bell work.
Third day of school-Write something cynical/sarcastic on bell work. Forget that Ms.D is a math person, and humor seems to be lost on her. Also insert remark about growing pot in my backyard (Hi Mr.Police! I was joking!) and feel at a loss for real logic (how does growing pot interfere with your rights?)
Fourth day of school-nothing fun happens, except me writing names from Harry Potter on a worksheet to see if anyone notices, and I'm tardy after lunch. The end.

The lunchbox and High School

I just finshed my lunchbox! yay!

The above is an illustration of what it looks like when you put your new lunchbox on your head.

My lunchbox in it's former life, as a pair of jeans, posing on my kitchen table.

A building in Montreal from the backseat of the car.

Tomorrow is the First Day Of HIGHSCHOOL. Freakout time. Majorly. Wish me survival. I'll blog if I live.

What I did on my Summer Vacation

1. I failed the test out. I don't really care, it just means that I have to take health.

2. The Guy at customs to get into Canada said "and those are your boys in the backseat?" He called me a boy and I wanted to slap him. Very hard.
3.I started knitting a sock. It's on 1.5 mm needles, and using needles that don't exist in my country highly amuses me. The yarn is Super Soxx in a orangey- otherstuff colorway. It Rocks!

They're a christmas present for my mom.
4.I saw the changing of the guard at Parliment Hill. (in ottowa)
5. I built a fire.
6. I learned just how much knitting a slow, easily distracted knitter can get done on the way to just outside of Toronto

7. I ate Poutine.
which looks much more appetizing before my brother attacks it.

8. I went to the Toledo art museum, and I saw

And, no the painting does not actually look like that. I have a habit of taking....interesting pictures of paintings.

9. I started a painting of my very own. I think it's loveley, and no, I don't have a picture.

10. And I am currently knitting

another square, this one in 5 by 5 ribbing, the same lion brand blue stuff, for the blanket with my SnB. And the socks...I need to clean my room

and because I made this pre-blog, and it is my very first wearable:
Accidentally on purpose, modified to use sugar 'n cream yarn. I'm wearing it right now!

Je couper les cheveux!

I got my hair cut! And now it's super short! This is going to take some getting used to. I was planning on a little longer than it is now, but if I got an extra inch off, I could donate it to locks of love, which I've been thinking about for a while now. It's so short that I can't even tuck it behind my ears!

This was also the first time I've had anyone besides the person who's cut my hair for my entire life cut my hair. It was kinda scary! I hope this will be easier to manage, and won't take 12+ hours to dry!

Oh yeah, I got Knitting Rules today and I'm loving it! Thank you harlot!

The Yarn Is Here!

It really is!
I got new fun yarn for the sweater! It's a bit thinner, darker, and harrier than I expected, but it's 65% alpaca, 35% tencel. Anybody know what tencel is? I googled it, but all I got was that it's a plant fiber. It's Elann.com Peruvian Quechua, and I got it on clearance.

This is supposed to get 22sts/4 inches, and I tried it out on 7's but they're too big.
I might have to use 5's. Eek!

I got:

Ballet Flats! I finally found a pair in my size! Target didn't have any, Kohl's didn't have any the first time, Old Navy didn't have any, but we were at Kohl's and alas, ballet flats. In my size! Joy.

You Psycopaths Startled Me!

So about half an hour ago, my mom says that there's people on the patio. I think this is a little weird. More than a little weird. I go out there and realize that it's Makena and Emaline and we all just start craking up. Turns out that they're just going for a bike ride and decided to surprise me. My friends rock!

Makena and are taking a bunch of quizzes:

CPR.

Tonight was our CPR class so that we can test out of Health. It was niether fun nor amusing. No knitting has been compleated.
