Larger

I have this ridiculous desire to gain some kind of larger than life persona. How does one go about doing this?

1) Adopt an outlandish name like, uh, "The Spruсe Magistrate" or "Tоluene Tyrant" or something that nobody will have heard of before.

2) Do not connect this name to any of your other names. Horrible idea. It will make you modest because you will have a reputation to uphold.

3) Say what you really think and keep it at that. Don't say wacky things for their own sake. Don't write a wall of text unless you're absolutely sure it will be hilarious.

4) The longer any one persona lasts, the more grounded in reality it will become, and the less interesting it will be. If you decide you want to take a new direction, start writing under a different name. Some people go through dozens.

ADDENDUM: Although some may be tempted to become larger-than-life by just eating a ton of food, this will probably not do the same for your persona, unless you consider not being hungry an interesting character trait. And most people don't.

I have been considering adopting another name, but I can't think of any that are perfect. I understand and can definetly handle 2 and 3, but I'm not sure that I agree with 4. I kind of think that the longer you go with a persona, the more the real you and that persona blend together, so that the lie becomes elaborate enough that it's actually the truth. And I think I would like to get to that point.

Ah, but then it ceases to become a persona and just becomes you with another name and a slightly different style of speech
