Scared

I'm the kind of person who is very scared. Spiders, or any bug really? Very much scary. Having to tell the truth? Scary. Getting old? Scary, mostly because the idea of growing up and leaving here is just as frightening as it is exhilarating.
Odd.

On Happiness.

It's early in the morning, early enough that it feels like yesterday.
I think happiness is a choice. It's always a choice.
You wake up every day and you have a choice. You can wear jeans or shorts. You can have cereal or toast or eggs. You can wear flipflops or go barefoot.
You have to allow yourself to be happy.
And I'm still figuring that out.

Evil Glare Coming My Way

If you're Bianka Rose, then you are totally giving me "the look". I'm sorry!
I just read The Average American, and it was really good. Even me, who unabashedly hates nonfiction, liked it. I learned really useless facts too, which may or may not turn up in quizbowl.
I learned that Michiganders have the most average accents. I learned that there is a form of crystal meth called "ice" that you can smoke. I learned that most Americans live in suburbia (isn't that sad?). I learned that most Americans use a "privatively owned motor vehicle" to get to their main place to be everyday.

Well, what is it with all the posts that start with well?

Anyways, I have a wallpaper for my story that I made while procrastinating on the writing of said story.
Enjoy, don't redistribute.

Thinking

Since my brain is a little...fuzzy, I have a post in list. More posts really should be in lists.

Things I learned at ASP

  • Mining is to Knott County as Cars are to Detroit, if not more so.
  • My church friends have dirtier minds than my school friends.
  • I can take siding down.
  • I am actually very short, compared to everyone else in my work crew.
  • Helping people helps me a lot too.
  • Humming really annoys some people. Who knew?
  • Deep fried cheesecake is really, really good.
  • Apparently southern cooking must involve one or more of the following: Excessive butter, deep frying, or biscuits.
  • I really don't like gravy and biscuits. Shoot me.
Things I wrote while at ASP
  • I could totally feel my arteries hardening, but it was absolutly worth it.
  • Dirty joke marathon...Let's just say that I have been scarred for life.
  • I've always wanted to ask God how He can let poverty and despair happen in the world. What's keeping you from asking? I'm afraid he'll ask me the same thing.
  • The Creeper's ManGloves
  • At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much money you have or what your hair looked like or if you went to church enough or any of that. What people care about when it's all said and done is this; weahter or no you did your best to help and love everyone around you.
  • It seems like people here really know what the important things are in life. It's so much simpler here.

Hello and Goodbye

I have a lot to say and I'm not entirely sure how to say it. I know all of you are thinking "omgerz, what if she stops blogging" Yeah, not happening. The good news: I got an A- in French 2. Here, a A- (95%) acts exactly like an A+ (100%) on your GPA, so that makes me happy. My summer has been going pretty well so far. I have a few videos and pictures, but... I'm to lazy to photoshop and upload them right now. I'll probably do it later.

The scary news: I'm going to ASP tonight! I know, it's pretty scary. It's pretty much the furthest I've been from home without my parents. We're going to be in eastern Kentucky, pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

This is Samantha's mom. Samantha asked me to sign off for her and let you know she will be back June 22.

Wow

I had two tests today (yesterday, technically) and I will have at least one test every day for the next week.
I do not plan to blog much, so if you need something to read, find a Shakespearian play or two, or you could just read Second Glance by Jodi Piccoult. It's fabulous.
I believe I may need some sort of shield for the glare that Bianka would be giving me.
